A-ToolBar has NO spyware or adware.
You can easily add new search engines in the search list.
No technical knowledge is needed.

It’s also nice to note that A-ToolBar has been awarded the Softpedia “100% Free” Award
You can download it directly from HERE
It’s also available from MySharedFiles
This is the only Too lBar I have installed on my system and it’s a real timesaver.
I have to admit, I don’t think I’ll ever use all 50 functions built into it.

Nice Find Bob  had a little difficulty, however managed to get around that by using the good old
Windizupdate Forum search function. There is and update to the original .dll file that is first installed. Good stuff mate good job ;D

Hi Bob3160,

I have used A-Toolbar from the start, very many things included, and I tested it for half a year. It is a 100% free of ad- and spyware. Just one of the few toolbars where you run no risks. Been one of the beta testers when it came out. The only thing I have reservations about is the Alexa info, but that is blocked anyway (you could choose for Google to do the same). I do not know why as the thumbnails are not that bad, but I still remember the things with related.html for Win 98. Good tool, keep on your machine. It recently was updated to a new version. Hey, Bob, what do you think about the new pact between AOL, Google and TimeWarner. Are the video’s getting better now? Sometimes Google video quality is that downright miserable quality!!

greets,

polonus

Bob, May I say that this is your best finding yet  I’m now able to update. Well, I was but this is alot better. Better then Micrososft’s though ::slight_smile: Good job

Not too sure about Windizupdate.
The two recent Updates from Microsoft ; 1. Critical, and 1. Important ; came through anyway after using Windizupdate to download / Install them . Made Me think what’s the point ?

Seems XP Automatic Update didn’t recognise them & overwrit them . Something screwy happened , …
Anyone else have this happen ? Feedback guy’s ?

Abraxas,
If your looking for feedback, please start a thread for that subject.
Thanks.

Well it sounds like the windizupdate doesn’t update something the WindowsUpdate checks (update history perhaps, where ever that’s located) to see what updates you have installed and which you require.

This is obviously a little bit of a pain, but the reason of using windizupdate is you can’t or don’t want to use windowsupdate, so swapping between the two would kind of negate why you went to windizpdate. I assume that windizupdate can detect installed updates, both windowsupdate and windizupdate ones.

I continue to use windowsupdate waiting on more Guinea pigs to test the waters, so I use either Maxthon or Avant to connect for updates. I too look forward to any feedback that may come but I feel the majority won’t been switching between the two like you have tried.

I’ve made a few changes and we’ll leave this thread for discussion
on any of the items in new home for I thought this might interest you!

Please let me know if you have any problems accessing the new home of I thought this might interest you!

Why should we have? ;D
Evrything seems fine (maybe dialup users will experiment some kind of delay because of the screenshots there).

Hi Tech,
No you shouldn’t have had any problems. I’m primarily concerned about those with dialup.
I intend to start a new page for each addition and only merge a limited amount into the main page.
At this point, I haven’t created the actual inex page for this site… ;D

The index page of this new project is finished and can be viewed Here
Thanks

So i should put this one in my Favorites?

Hi folks,

Sometimes you have to recover what is on your smart disk in your camera, fail and you think all your pictures are gone, or you have to rescue data from your flash drive, actually for all portable partitions that use FAT, use this handy program: flash recovery, download from:
http://www.smartpctools.com/flash_recovery/download.html
Good to have,

polonus

The project is getting closer towards it’s completion :):

If you use Amazon, this can save you money
Refund.com keeps track of price changes for items purchased by users;
a price drop within 30 days of purchase entitles the buyer to apply for a rebate.
It’s a little-known policy at online retailer Amazon.com that permits buyers to benefit from a price change at the site.
Amazon confirmed the policy, which rebates customers the difference in price should it fall within 30 days from the purchase.
The onus falls on the customer to keep track of the price and apply for the change. Refund.com can do the tracking for you.

(If you save a lot of $$ using this, remember where you heard it…  :))

Bob, you really come up with some great stuff to help all of us.

Thanks for all you do!
