Just an idea from a design perspective

I would like to see some sort of animation or a popup from Avast for a brief period every time the system starts, just to let the users know that their systems are secure or protected

You already have it in the taskbar.

I am interested in a similar popup or some sort of animation that would appear by itself for a brief moment as the system starts, with the same message of course.

So would this idea be implemented or is there another channel for making a suggestion?

I am still awaiting an appropriate response

Considering the vast majority of those on the forums are avast members who have no input on things like this we can’t really do anything more.

So you would have to wait for an Avast Team member to come across this and give any response.

Personally I wouldn’t like the idea, there is enough going on at boot with everything else users have run on startup. Not to mention, what service/function would be responsible for this. My thoughts would be the AvastUI.exe, since this isn’t directly a security function, you would have to wait for the avastUI to be running before you would get any animation.

Perhaps that piece of code that would cause the popup or the animation, can be incorporated as part of the AvLaunch component

That’s an always interesting discussion on this topic. It’s very hard to define when exactly it should be animated, because if for any avast activity it would be most likely animated all the time
And then people might be thinking it’s doing all the time something so it’s slowing down my PC, right?

If you install AV you kinda expect that it will protect you and it will be updated so it’s more likely not necessary to animate that and we would rather use the tray icon for cases when something is wrong and user should be notified.

Anyway we might be testing some info message only after the computer start, informing the user that all is fine and PC is protected.

I don’t want such message.
But if that is implemented, give the users the option to disable it.

We had such a screen in V6/7 (IIRC), it didn’t bring much to the party…

Exactly and that’s what I wrote, just very briefly as the computer starts. It doesn’t have to be flashy either. Just a simple popup with the computer’s status would be fine.

But did the party lose anything because of that?

Yes, because it didn’t work on all OS/setups we had countless support requests.

If it’s designed properly, there shouldn’t be any issues, unless if the system has issues

Well, it’s not my decision, so no need to convince me…

Cheers!

As long as there is a setting which can enable/disable the notification, I don’t see a problem.

Agreed, I find stuff like that more irritating than reassuring and would be looking for the damn turn this off switch.

We currently have the exclamation mark that warns us when there’s a problem.
For me, that’s enough.

May I please ask why it irritates you?
