Just to make sure my computer is clean from malware

is this the Way my Signature should look?

i know this topic is old but i have a question about Super anti spyware how many MB does it use?

Approximately 8.73 MB just for download.

That rather depends on what you mean by how many MB does it use ?
If you are talking download size that has been answered, if you are talking about Hard Disk space when installed approx, 34MB.

If you are talking RAM, that rather depends on if you have the free version and no resident protection enabled of not allowed to start on boot ?

I have the paid version with resident protection ant the task manager reports different sizes depending on what you look at, see image. But I don’t find it in anyway hogging either RAM or CPU.

A Virus that isn’t dectect by avast is http://www.virustotal.com/file-scan/report.html?id=5560dcf8e4f4eb39d643cd054f6c16f0aeca2f20102828cdcb5c843f3e41a8d5-1281654669 i uploaded the file it showed that SAS dectects it D:

When only two of 42 scanners detect it and both are using Generic detections there is a high possibility that it is a false positive.

Generic signatures (the -gen or .gen in the malware name), are trying to catch multiple variants of the same type of malware and is a fine balance between detecting a new variant and detecting something valid as infected.

So if you can post the details of the detection from the SAS log file, Preferences, Statistics/Logs tab in SAS ?
Or what was it that detected it or made you suspicious of it ?

i uploaded the url of it on virustotal and i viewed the antivirus dectection part of it if that is what you mean

OK if you are only submitting a URL to VT for it to download and analyse no problem, you have the choice to go with the two generic detections and not bother to download the file. But it isn’t a clear cut issue that avast isn’t detecting it but 40 other scanners aren’t detecting it.

Yes, someone has to be first to detect it, but when that is generic it requires further analysis.

ok i just like to say that i had that program on my computer once and when i ran it i got like pop ups trying to download something and i tried to find out that what it was just blank. so i think that icpv3.exe program got to be a virus or something

i have a update about icpv3.exe my friend downloaded it and he got like something trying to be downloaded

i hope avast will check out that program and find out if it is unsafe or safe

They won’t unless you send them a sample.

Send the sample/s to avast as a Undetected Malware:
Open the chest and right click in the Chest and select Add, navigate to where you have the sample and add it to the chest (see image). Once in the chest, right click on the file and select ‘Submit to virus lab…’ complete the form and submit, the file will be uploaded during the next update.

That doesn’t move the file only copies the file so you have to decide what you are going to do with the original in the meantime, uninstall the program/rename or delete the file (rename being safer, but you do have the copy in the chest. Periodically scan the file to see if it has been added the the virus signatures.

There is another on-line analysis tool you could try that - Anubis: Analyzing Unknown Binaries, is another scanning tool that is very useful, Anubis: Analyzing Unknown Binaries. Post a link to the results page.

ok i did and i got this http://anubis.iseclab.org/?action=result&task_id=1a5bc2075d8e47594a540e5ce83db46ca
and i click on html and i saw this
http://anubis.iseclab.org/?action=result&task_id=1a5bc2075d8e47594a540e5ce83db46ca&format=html

does that mean my computer is infected or something?

should i send the file through a email to avast so that they can check it?

I would say based on that it is highly suspect and should be sent to avast for analysis and removed from your system, e.g. uninstall the application it came with.

On that subject what did this come with and what was it meant to do as that might give a reason for some of the changes ?

The Summary provides adequate warning about the risk without having to fully understand the detailed analysis.

which is better in email or through virus chest? and i saved the program on my computer so how do i remove it D=

the file came from hXXP://icpv3.com and it uses a swf file from http://www.clubpenguin.com

 1. I would say send it through the chest as you have a copy in a safe location that you can periodically scan from within the chest to monitor the outcome of any analysis.

 2. Yes but what does/is the file/program meant to do, you don’t just download a file for no purpose.

If you had no intention of downloading it then it should have been history long ago.
