there is a new beta version ready - build 25.12.10639.

Security & Protection

  • HijackLoader Detection: Added advanced protection against NtWriteVirtualMemory exploits for safer browsing.
  • Self-Defense Enhancement: Improved handling of critical DLL loads during migration to prevent security blocks.
  • Media Scan Improvements: Enhanced detection logic for wireless displays (WiFi Direct / Chromecast) and LG TVs on Windows ARM devices for seamless connectivity.

Installer & Integration

  • Backend Switch for New Installs: Fresh Avast installs now use the updated backend for better performance.
  • Extended Installer Commands: Support added for advanced parameters in component installation, improving flexibility for media scan features.

Installer

  • Language Selection: Offline installer now shows only supported languages to avoid untranslated UI.
  • Migration Stability: Resolved issues during migration from standalone products to suite, ensuring proper registration and cleanup.

Performance & UI

  • Corrupted Tray Menu Strings: Some languages does not show incorrect characters in tray menus
  • Silent Mode UI Pop-Ups: Fixed repeated UI appearance when Silent Mode was enabled.
  • Smart Scan Status: Corrected behavior where canceled scans were incorrectly marked as completed.
  • Score Update After Restart: Fixed incorrect GenScore updates after system reboot.

Other Fixes

  • AvDump Start Issue: Resolved problems starting AvDump.exe in release builds.
  • DeepFake Guard Delay: Fixed UI freeze when stopping manual media scans.

Known Issues

Firewall

  • Moving programs between folders in firewall settings may not persist.

Thanks for including release notes! I’m sure the fix for popups in Silent Mode will be appreciated by many.

My Avast Free keeps opening up on my task bar every two weeks exactly. This is been going on for months. Can you please fix that? Thanks.

Hello, there’s an issue where black blocks are covering the text in some interfaces of Avast’s light mode (for example, the interface that shows no threats were found during a scan).

Devs please publish release details of 25.11 public release version on the Forum. It is long overdue.
