Easypass has been replaced by avast passwords.

Did you do as the instruction says ? (checking your avast account)

I have the same issue. After renewing the license, the icon in the Windows task bar says “Avast EasyPass is blocked please check your online account”. I can still open the EasyPass editor and access my passwords through the Windows Start menu, but the integration in Internet Explorer is not working anymore. The About window of the EasyPass editor says License: “FREE, Trial period expired”. If I try to enter my license key again, it says: “Failed. Response of the server: ERROR 316 License key already in use”. If I login to my Avast account, I see no reference to EasyPass whatsoever. Support (Ticket ID: [#572211]) does not respond so far. What should I do to continue using EasyPass? The payment was successful.

Wait for a response to your ticket which normally is within 2 working days.
Ofcourse when it is real busy, holiday, a lot of ill employees or such, it can take a bit longer.

I am running Windows 10 with a Chrome browser. I have the same problem after renewal of easy pass. I even went as far as to uninstall and reinstall to no avail. This is getting to be a hassle. Same thing happened last year when I renewed. I even went as far as to send a support ticket and this is what I get back and it doesn’t help at all. “In order to better assist you we have implemented a new support/customer care system. We therefore kindly request that you visit http://www.avast.com/support Avast Customer and Technical Support and resubmit your question.

Please mention your ticket number here and the date that you have submitted it.

If you have Easy Pass, it is not linked to your account. I have checked mine as I have the same problem after paying and getting the license.

I also sent a ticket with the same problem as above, two days and counting, no answer.

Thanks to the guy above who mentioned how to access all account information. A lot of copy/paste waiting for me in the next days but Avast is not what it used to be…

So I am done with them, thanks for all your services in the last 10 years.

I got a reply from customer support (see below). Did all steps, and got the same error - license key already in use…

I only do not know why they say “Your activation key”, when I only see License key in the Help section.

Avast Easypass has been discontinued and substituted by Avast Passwords, so we have converted your old Avast EasyPass into a brand new Passwords license.

To activate your Avast Passwords, please find it under “Subscription”

  • Click on " Insert Activation Code " and please use the following activation key to activate it:

To import your passwords, and also to download the Browser plugin, please find those tools under “Passwords”.

Also, I must inform you that we are closing support for EasyPass, but I can provide you with a Passwords license instead, which is a similar product but integrated in Avast Antivirus.

IDEA: If someone writes a program to port from EasyPass into another decent password manager, he can make a quick buck

I really like EasyPass. They say ‘support is being withdrawn’. Does that mean we can continue to use EasyPass as a fully functioning program with a licence key (but just without technical support), i.e. the GoFill functions work and integration with the Browser works etc, and we won’t get the “Renew” dialogue box? Or is it ‘full support’, ie none of the useful stuff with browsers etc works anymore :frowning:

So when they say ‘support is being withdrawn’, do Avast actually meant that support has already been withdrawn :frowning: the program is already not fully functional.

This happened to me today after renewing my license. I am very annoyed about it because there is no explanation or anything. I just paid $45 NZD for this. The Easypass disappeared off my programs and I can’t run it. I have written to support asking for this to be sorted out. Not happy at all… this is terrible service, it’s worse than terrible. I rely on this software and it’s just completely failed…

You are not alone with this! Nicely we all were not informed that the support and the usage of easypass was closed in December 2016 - but its already possible to pay for a renew of the licences! The user webpages are all empty (I’ve checked this with some friends!)

About a year ago (perhaps even longer) avast already told that Easypass was replaced by avast passwords.
The new license will work fine with avast passwords.

Depending on when the license for Easypass expires/expired, people have/had time enough to get switch to avast passwords.
