Hi
Anyone facing problem in renewing free licence? After clicking the free licence, then click the no thanks, nothing happened to my avast and it continue to say it is expiring.
Ofcourse nothing happens if you click on “no thanks”.
Install avast and click on register.
It will change the 30 days to 365 days (a year)
Hello Eddy,
My version avast Free 17.6.2310 is announced valid for another 19 days …
How to renew it?
Do I have to wait for an Avast alert? Or is it done automatically?
Thank you in advance for your answer.
Have a good day
Please (re)search before posting.
As has been explained in other threads the licensing system has changed.
It is now automatically.
Hello Eddy
I had searched but probably “badly searched” … for nothing seen on the subject regarding Avast Free … and license renewal .;
And so … the last day expired … the extension will be automatic … is that right?
Anyway … thank you very much for your quick response.
Have a good day !
Registration is history, see: https://www.avast.com/registration-free-antivirus
Hi, Asyn.
That link you posted opens a site where it says, in part:
“Newer versions of Avast Free Antivirus will no longer ask you to register, and older versions will keep working even after they’ve “expired”.”
A question, if I may. I am running a much older version, v. 12.3.2280. Registration will expire in a couple of months. Will it keep working after it expires?
Thank you.
Yep.
Thank you.
You’re welcome.
Problem with renewing/installing.
Win 8.2, Avast 17.5.2303 (build 17.5.3585.203)
It says just about every month, that the license has expired. Usually renewing means uninstalling and reinstalling Avast. Online installer does not work, the full install file has to be downloaded.
(Finnish language Avast, so some terms may be wrongly translated, but I hope you understand the steps)
Now, about renewing. When opening Avast, the first page says “Licence expired”. Green button below it, says “ACTIVATE AGAIN”.
I click that.
New window, lists the features of the Free Antivirus, and the pay version, with white and green buttons saying “CHOOSE” below them.
I click on the white button below the free version.
Next window says “Thank you for choosing Avast Free Antivirus”, and below that “Try the premium etc.”, “for free for 20 days etc.”, below that a green button that says “START FREE TRYOUT”, and below the button a link that says “No thanks”.
No matter which of those I click, it always brings me back to the opening page that says “Licence expired”. If I choose the “start tryout” then a window will pop up in the lower right corner saying something about installing some great ways to protect my computer, but after that goes away, the license is still expired.
I have a Win7 computer that I have had NOT A SINGLE PROBLEM with Avast for a decade or something. But I am just about had it with this computer and trying to get Avast to work here.
Hi, Bob provided a video a while ago, hope it helps.

I’ve noticed after you do all that you need to close the interface and re-open it in order to refresh the info. I don’t know why avast! does this…
When all else fails, after an update, it’s always advisable to reboot the system.
The video does not help. Clicking “activate” does what I described earlier.
If I go to “Settings” and “Subscription”, it says that I have not registered. (The date for last registration shown below is 2.8.2017, and it has expired 1.9.2017)
If I click “Register now”, it opens a window that says my license has expired, with a red button saying “Continue”, and clicking that takes me to the page that lists the features of the Free Avast and the pay version, and as I’ve told before, choosing either of those will eventually lead back to the front page , AND NOTHING HAS HAPPENED.
Yes, I have tried turning the computer off and on again.
Repair Avast:
Control Panel> Program and Features (Add/remove program)>Select Avast> Select Repair. Reboot when completed
https://www.avast.com/faq.php?article=AVKB204
If Repair doesn’t fix the problem, try the following:
Clean Install of Avast:

If you need additional help with the Clean Install, watch this:

I uninstalled Avast. Then used the cleaner multiple times. Then downloaded the latest offline installation package for Avast Free.
Installed. Avast got stuck on the opening page, rebooted, it complained about some problems, clicked on some buttons to restart the program etc. until finally, the front page opened and it said my computer is now protected.
So, now I have the “Activate” button on the lower left corner above the “Settings” button. “Activate” takes me through the procedures that I have mentioned earlier (choose free or premium, want to try premium for free?, etc) but it still always brings me back to the front page, and the "Activate button is still there, and when I go to Settings and Subscription, it says that my Avast is NOT activated, and under it it says that the activation is valid for 29 days. Which is what has happened every time before this too, and which is why we have had to uninstall and reinstall the damn program every month or so.
We have even reinstalled the OS once, and it’s still like this.
A screenshot would probably be helpful.
Here’s what my Subscription looks like

Hi.
Forgot about this, because Avast worked for the month just ok. But, now it has expired, and will not renew itself again, clicking “ACTIVATE” just does the same things as before. It’s in Finnish but I’m sure you’ll recognize what is what.

I guess I’ll have to remove it once again and then install it once again, then I’ll take a screenshot of the same page when the product is active.
What version of Avast are you using ???
What happens when you click on the Renew Now Button
I don’t have that button on my screen that’s why I want to know if you’re running the current version.
