Why do you absolutely need a program update?
In the past, avast has resolved many issues without changing the program version.
Moreover, if you read what propokes says carefully, he is talking about a hotfix and not an update… generally, these Hot fixes are deployed in the background (emergency update) without changing the program version.
That said, based on other feedback, it seems that the fix that is supposed to resolve the issue is not working, or it has not yet been deployed.
