First! ;D Thanks for the release.

After updating of Avast I can’t run Internet Explorer. :frowning: Others browsers (Chrome, Firefox) are OK. I have Windows 7 and Avast 18.2.2328.

  1. IE on Win 7 cannot be started. This is serious problem, fix should be priority.

  2. Overseer.exe was added to 2 places: C:\Program Files\Common Files\AVAST Software\Overseer\Overseer.exe, and also to C:\Program Files\AVAST Software\Avast\setup\Overseer.exe. Taks in task manager leads to setup folder.

  3. Uninstaller still not able remove Overseer from “common files” (Removed by hand before installing 18.2).

  4. Scan time still tell me “few sec”.

Now you can see what can happen if stable version is relaeased day after beta version

Same problem here. IE11 on Windows 7 64 bit.
IE starts with Avast disabled.

Yes disabling shields solve this problem, but you are not protected.

Problem seems to be in Behavior Shield, looking into it.

I updated to the latest version 18.2 on my windows 8.1 machine → reboot → avast showed an ! and the firewall stopped working, suggested mt to manually turn it on → I did

I had to perform a Repair → problem fixed

this happens many times in the past usually after a new version update

Given the problem with IE11 on Windows, shouldn’t this release be pulled from the website and automatic updates?

Yes, the forced updates have been disabled for more than an hour so the version can only be downloaded by new installs only until this is fixed.

While the tray icon doesn’t show an update available, if you open Settings / Update you see the new version being available.

Is still safe use this version if i dont use IE? I hear OS use IE for something.
Will be fixed by emergency update or VPS?
Thank you.

When will Avast start with Windows? At the moment, I’m forced to put it in the Start Programs.

We’re investigating. Will be fixed ASAP.

Hello, IE problem is going to be fixed in the next VPS update.

Got notification to update about an hour ago …now IE 11 wont work :frowning: I discovered by chance I had to turn the behaviour shield off . So it appears notifications to updates are still being sent out !

Hence why I have joined the forum as I was unable to operate my website and advice forum with 12,000 members until I discovered the cause by chance Not happy !!!

Still broken today.

It’s good to know that turning of the behavior shield enables IE 11 (used for testing web sites). I wonder what else is broken. I’ve not gone through an extensive examination of my applications.

ETA on the fix?

This and the last version also break the new Google Chat application. In particular, I cannot enable video chat when the behavior shield is running. Disabling the behavior shield during the duration of the chat allows video to be operational.

Since Google chat is being looked at as a skype replacement for work, it’s important to me that this issue is resolved.

I’ve also had Windows Explorer crash on me twice since this update was installed.

Really?

So should I hold off on this update for now? It seems like there are lots of problems.
