Whatever happened in the latest update, I have to turn off Webshield to restore the ability to use Youtube, Gmail and other websites.
I thought it was adblocker software but everything works flawlessly once I turn off Webshield.

I use Firefox as my default browser and have no issues with viewing Youtube. I currently have three browser tabs open for YouTube clips.
And whilst I don’t use my gmail account for regular email (downloading it to my system), viewing it via my browser. I have just connected to it and no issue.
What browser are you using and have you tried other browsers ?
Are you getting any error messages and if so what are they ?
Are you using any security based add-ons in your browser and if so what ?
Same problem, sometimes I can load the pages normally, other times I am forced to reload until the problem disappears
, but by disabling the webshield protection, everything works again.
The problem is present with chrome and firefox, it seems the same problem as the October build…
Avast free 25.3
Sorry for my english
Are you using any Security based add-ons in these browsers, if so what ?
This could block the loading of the pages and or conflict with the Web Shield.
I use two security related Add-ons uMatrix and uBlock Origin Lite and have to lower the security level in uBlock Origin Lite.
Other than that I have no issue browsing YouTube.
Hi, I use only ublock origin lite, but I already tried to disable the extension and clear the caches, the problem is not solved. I remember that on the October build, the problem was the same, and it was solved with an update.
Have you tried just lowering the setting level by a notch in uBlock Origin Lite (hough disabling it temporarily should have the same effect) ?
That is the only change I made and I’m not experiencing this in Firefox, but I don’t use ASB (not a fan of chromium).
I’m also running the 25.3.xxxx version of Avast Free.
Yes I have already tried, but nothing, the problem is not fixed.
Same free version 25.3.x
On other communities, they say that the problem is caused by HTTPS Scanning
on webshielding, disabling the option, everything seems to return to normal.
Sorry I’m unable to replicate it on my settings.
What if you add an exception in Avast Settings > General > Exceptions for YouTube
https[://www.]youtube[.]com[/*] removing the square brackets I inserted to stop the link being active in the forum.
Oh great another post about an issue that’ll make me not update for at least another week.
Just tried it, but it continues to be slow on youtube, while disabling the scan https option completely solves the problem.
I’m still able to connect and depending on the number of tabs you have open is going to have an impact, but I’m able to use YouTube, without too much drama. Last night there was a YouTube outage for a while.
I have a tired old laptop that is showing its age, so I also use Firefox’s Unload Tabs function which helps my Low RAM and old CPU a lot.
I think at least in my case, I will have to wait for an update, which will solve this problem. Because I do not know what to try anymore, I also tried reinstalling, but even in this case it did not solve the problem.
Reinstalling won’t make a difference if you still have the same version number.
Have you tried what I suggested setting an exception as that would effectively be the same as disabling the web shield without lowering protection on other sites:
Yes, the problem is not solved
