Where are saved logons and passwords stored?

I want to copy/backup saved logons/passwords for sites. Where does ASB store them?

Whilst I don’t use the ASB, but as far as I’m aware they aren’t stored unencrypted.

I think they might be able to export them (but not 100% sure on this).

As you can see, you can export your passwords to a file.

Thanks for the clarification and image Bob.

Where did you go to get that Password Settings screen?

Open the Avast Passwords User Interface - Menu - Settings

Don’t know why/how I missed the replies. But I cannot find a screen that looks like what is shown here. I don’t have any screen that says “Avast Passwords” nor “Avast password Settings”. Would you please direct me to these screens.
Thank you.

When you did your installation, did you use custom and check the box to install Avast Passwords (old)?
If not, open the User Interface select menu, settings, Troubleshooting.
Scroll down and select Add Modify Components
When that opens, select Passwords (old) then select Change.
When the update is completed, re-star your computer.
You should then have the icon on your desktop for

Other things became higher priorities and I forgot about this. But now I again need to see saved logons and their passwords (equivalent to how Firefox shows them in Privacy & Security → Logins and Passwords → Saved Logins) to see what password Avast is putting in to my logon o a site. I still cannot find the passwords screen you put in your reply. I went down the route to Privacy → Passwords → Menu → Troubleshooting Get Started → Avast Premium Security. The Passwords (old) was already checked (everything there was already checked). I would greatly appreciate further help.

Hi,

Did you actually use Avast Passwords to manage your passwords, or did you only use Avast Secure Browser?
Copy-paste the following (secure://settings/passwords) into the address bar in Avast Secure Browser to view password information.
If you use Avast Passwords, please follow the instructions in this guide to ensure that you install Avast Passwords correctly: https://support.avast.com/en-ww/article/install-passwords/#pc

Thank you r@vast. I’m using just the Avast browser. I followed your instructions and found the saved logons and passwords.

Thank you for the update.

Cool, on the export. Didn’t even think of looking for that there. Easier to export to a file and click back and forth rather than between browser pages. I keep clicking in the wrong place and closing out browser pages in the middle of password changes.
